GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for understanding, upholding and promoting CSG’s Critical Success Factors:1) Safety First!; 2) Financial Success (including operational excellence); 3) Employee Satisfaction (including development and training), and 4) Customer Satisfaction. Provide direction and leadership for the financial operations of the company or a large segment of the company’s activities.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Monitor the financial operations of the company to ensure compliance with budgets and internal control processes.

2. Manages assigned administrative, accounting & payroll staff. Conducts performance evaluations and wage reviews. Recommends training and development activities for assigned staff.

3. Oversee the preparation of required Federal and State financial and payroll reports as well as monthly and quarterly financial and related reports to the President and/or Corporate Executives.

4. Assures that accounting records are prepared and maintained in accordance with the company’s accounting policies, chart of accounts and related accounting principles and practices, and that subordinate ledgers reconcile with the general ledger.

5. Directs maintenance of fixed asset records and related depreciation accounts; provides interpretative assistance as to the proper capitalization/expensing of outlays and grouping of fixed assets by class, as well as depreciation methodology.

6. Collaborates with management to develop schedules, procedures, and systems to enable the timely and informative accumulation, adjustment, and reporting of financial data.

7. Participate in strategic planning for the financial operations of the company.

8. Functions as management link between staff, internal auditors, external auditors and corporate accounting.

9. Perform additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Educational and experience requirements include: Four-year accounting degree with advanced degree or CPA preferred. Extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management required, including GAAP, SOX and other regulatory requirements. Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, State, and local requirements regarding financial records and benefit compliance. Knowledge of the unique aspects of construction accounting preferred.

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, State and local requirements regarding financial records. Requires strong analytical and organizational abilities to control projects and to manage multiple priorities. Strong interpersonal skills required to effectively present information to senior management and to deal with internal/external customers. Ability to promote a team environment and effectively manage work of support staff. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Viewpoint’s Spectrum applications. Ability to maintain confidentiality of corporate financial data is essential.

ADDITIONAL JOB CRITERIA

Requires regular travel between Helena and Kalispell, on occasion for extended stays.
