Overview

The Montana Society of CPAs’ Governmental Audit, Accounting and Financial Reporting Committee is proud to present a conference that focuses on accounting, auditing and reporting issues affecting Montana’s local governments. This conference has been designed for auditors of local governments, representatives and accountants of city, county, town, district governing boards and school district business offices.

    Allen Lloyd, Montana Society of CPAs

    Allen Lloyd is the Executive Director of the Montana Society of CPAs, where he works everyday to inspire, empower, and impact MSCPA members to achieve professional excellence. Prior to joining MSCPA, Allen worked at the Ohio Society of CPAs in a variety of roles and as a firm administrator for a local firm in Ohio. He is not a CPA, but he has been working with CPAs for over 10 years and does everything he can to promote and protect the profession.

    Allen grew up in a small town on the Ohio river where he rode his bike all summer, something he is happy to do again in Helena. He is married to a CPA and has two boys who like to be outside on the trails.

    Anna Durst, Nevada Society of CPAs

    Anna Durst, CPA, CGMA is the Chief Executive Officer of the Nevada Society of CPAs. In that role, Anna leads a team who supports CPAs and finance professionals for the entire state of Nevada. She provides learning, networking, advocacy, and professional information her members need to serve their clients and organizations. She also leads the peer review team who administers the program for 6 states and their firms. Prior to joining the NVCPA in May 2016, she served as General Manager and CFO of a private golf club in Reno, NV. While at the golf club she was involved with not only the golf club operations but major real estate transactions and the planning and financing of the clubhouse. She specializes in managerial accounting and enjoys being involved in all aspects of her company’s operations and finances. During her time in public accounting Anna served clients in auditing, accounting, tax, and consulting areas. Her experience in a wide variety of industries prior to, and during, her public accounting career, led her to finance roles in property development, management, and construction when she moved to Reno in 2004. She thoroughly enjoyed managing her $500M recreation property portfolio for vacation developments in Mammoth Lakes, CA and Napa, CA. She was on a team who developed, built, and sold luxury ski and golf developments and was able to move projects from bare ground to certificate of occupancy. Anna married her high school sweetheart in 1992 and enjoys reading, listening to music, travel, and anything related to the Christmas season.

    Kurt Schlicker

    Kurt joined Eide Bailly in 2011 and has practiced as an auditor in the government industry since that time. He has led audits for many types of government entities and specializes in auditing federal grants for compliance. In addition, Kurt provides training over a variety of topics such as subrecipient monitoring, procurement and GASB standards implementation. Kurt is the chair of Eide Bailly’s Single Audit Technical Issues Committee, which assists the firm in staying compliant with federal grant auditing requirements. He is also a member of the firm’s Government COVID-19 Response Team.

    He leads Eide Bailly’s Nevada government practice. His audit clients currently include the State of Nevada, City of Henderson, City of Sparks, Clark County School District, and many other special districts. In addition to audits, he consults with many other governments including the State of Idaho, State of South Dakota, State of Maine, and Oklahoma City over a variety of topics from financial reporting to subrecipient monitoring and federal compliance. He focuses 100% of his time within the government industry.

    Lisa Parker, Governmental Accounting Standards Board

    Lisa Parker is a senior project manager with the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). Prior to joining the GASB in 2008, Lisa worked for Runyon Kersteen Ouellette CPAs for 10 years, the town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine as finance director and interim town manager for 2 years, and the city of Saco, Maine as finance director for 8 years. Lisa is a certified public accountant and a chartered global management accountant. She also is a member of the Association of Governmental Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants, where she served as president. Previously, Lisa was president of the Maine Governmental Finance Officers Association, an executive board member of the New England Governmental Finance Officers Association, and a member of a national GFOA standing committee. Lisa attended Boston College and the University of Southern Maine graduating with magna cum laude honors and a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

    Paul Kane

    Paul joined Eide Bailly in 2003 and has practiced as an auditor for more than 20 years providing services to a variety of industries, including construction, real estate, pension plans, investment funds and state and local governments, agencies and districts. He currently focuses approximately 75% of his hours in the government industry. Paul also provides training over a variety of topics related to both auditing, single audits, and accounting standard implementations. Paul is a member of the firm’s governmental Technical Issues Committee, which assists the firm in staying compliant with GASB standards and governmental audit requirements.

    Richard Reisig, Pinion

    Rick Reisig, CPA, presently serves on the Financial Accounting Foundation’s Board of Trustees, and recently completed two terms on FAF’s Private Company Council and an extended term on the AICPA’s Auditing Standards Board. He serves as an AICPA continuing professional education instructor on accounting and auditing topics, and has served on the AICPA’s Board of Examiners and the AICPA’s Practice Analysis Sponsor Advisory Group. He has over 39 years of public accounting experience and serves his firm, Anderson ZurMuehlen & Company, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He is a Past President of the Montana Society of CPA’s, and a former member of the AICPA’s Governing Council. He was the 2014 recipient of the MSCPA’s George Anderson Distinguished Service Award, MSCPA’s highest honor. Reisig also serves as a Director-at-Large on the board of directors for the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), is the current Treasurer and chair of the Administration and Finance Committee, and was recently selected by NASBA’s Nominating Committee as their nominee for NASBA Vice-Chair for 2021/2022. He is past chair/member of NASBA’s Standards Setting and Professional Trends Advisory Committee and the CBT Administration Committee, and past member of NASBA’s Relations with Member Boards Committee, Compliance Assurance Committee and CPA Licensing and Examinations Committee. Reisig was a member of the Montana Board of Public Accountants for over 9 years and served two terms as Board Chair. He has a bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting Option, from Montana State University, and has served on MSU’s College of Business Advisory Council and its Accounting Advisory Council, the board of directors for the MSU Alumni Association and MSU Foundation.
