The above membership dues are current for the 2024-2025 FY, which runs from February 1 to January 31. After that date, dues are prorated based on the time of the year you join (prorated quarterly) and your dues class.

*INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS (out-of-country): You must first hold a certificate of membership with the Association of CPAs International (ACPAI) to be an out-of-country member of MTCPA. Please email us at info@montana.cpa to proceed with application once approval by ACPAI.

  1. Certified in a jurisdiction recognized by NASBA
  2. Working for a public accounting firm
  3. Living in Montana

BING Member

  1. Certified in a jurisdiction recognized by NASBA (may have an inactive license)
  2. Not working for a public accounting firm
  3. Living in Montana

Inactive Member

  1. Certified in a jurisdiction recognized by NASBA
  2. A Member in good standing for a least one year
  3. Temporarily left the workforce (i.e. temporary disability, parental leave, etc.)
  4. Live in Montana

Must complete an inactive waiver annually

Out-of-State Member

  1. Certified in a jurisdiction recognized by NASBA
  2. Not living in Montana

Retired Member

  1. Certified in a jurisdiction recognized by NASBA
  2. Sixty years of age or older
  3. Must be fully retired
  4. A Member in good standing for 10 years or more
  5. Has not been granted Honorary Life Status

Associate Member

  1. Not certified in Montana
  2. Live in the United States
  3. Has accounting degree, working toward their CPA certification

Non-CPA Member - Public Practice

  1. Owners or staff working directly with/for certified public accountants; but
  2. Do not hold a certificate themselves
  3. Live and/or work within the United States

Non-CPA Member - BING

  1. Accounting professionals in business, industry, government; or not-for-profit organizations; but
  2. Do not hold a certificate themselves
  3. Live and/or work within the United States

Student Member

  1. Are enrolled in a college or university that offers a baccalaureate or masters degree with a concentration in accounting
  2. At least sophomore standing; or
  3. No more than one year post graduation
