State Taxation Committee

The Taxation and Legislative Advocacy Committee is dedicated to representing the interests of CPAs and their clients by addressing issues within the state tax code. The committee strives to maintain a proactive advisory relationship with the Montana Department of Revenue, ensuring that the perspectives and concerns of our members are heard and considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocacy and Representation: Serve as a voice for CPAs and their clients on matters related to state tax laws. Identify and articulate issues within the tax code that need to be addressed to benefit the Montana business environment.
  • Advisory Role: Maintain an ongoing, collaborative relationship with the Montana Department of Revenue, providing feedback and recommendations to promote the fair and efficient administration of tax laws.
  • Legislative Collaboration: Work closely with the Legislative Committee during each legislative session. Offer ideas, share expertise, and voice concerns regarding proposed legislation that affects taxation and business regulations in Montana.

Time Commitment

Meetings as needed. During Legislative Session Monday morning conference calls.
