Tax, Trusts, & Estates Paralegal
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet with attorneys, clients, and others to discuss assigned matters.
- Assist with trust administration, including preparation of trustee appointment documentation, trust reports and inventory, property contributions and transfers, distributions, and accountings.
- Assist with probate administration, including preparing necessary probate court documents, nonprobate transfer documents, tax filings and managing court and tax filings.
- Prepare, organize, and retrieve matter files and manage matter schedule and deadlines.
- Gather and organize banking, brokerage, insurance, entity, real estate and other property titles and all other data necessary to administer a probate or trust and/or to prepare necessary federal estate and gift tax returns.
- Assist attorneys in preparing federal estate and gift tax returns, and related filings. Will be primarily responsible for inputting all data into transfer tax software utilized by the firm.
- Open and close files in accordance with firm procedures.
- Maintains records regarding billable hours.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Available to work overtime as needed and approved by attorneys.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of related experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and other similar software.
- Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
