Rural Chapter
Rural Chapter
In 2014, a member who lives in a more rural part of Montana expressed a desire to have a Rural Chapter that meets for CPE opportunities and networking ONLINE, much like the chapters in our more urban areas of the state. We thought this was a great idea!
Membership
Here’s the details about belonging to the Rural Chapter:
- You must live in an area of Montana that doesn’t have a local chapter.
- There will be up to four webcasts a year on relevant topics.
- Cost to join the Rural Chapter is $40 annually. This covers the cost of all four webcasts, so basically four hours of CPE for $40!
- You must be a member of MSCPA to join the Rural Chapter.
Meetings
We will incorporate a little online networking at each webcast and try to have a couple events a year you could attend to network in person. For example: at this year’s annual meeting we’ll have some tables reserved for Rural Chapter members at breakfast and special ribbons to help you identify one another.
Some webcasts may be open to non-chapter members (but still MTCPA members) for the price of $50 per webcast.
Technology Requirements to Participate
You will need your computer (connected to the internet) and a phone. Ideally you will have a bandwidth of 20mbps or more. If you don’t know your bandwidth, I encourage you to give it a try anyway. During the February tests some of members were surprised how well it came through over their low bandwidth.
