Carroll College is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the position of Controller.  Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, Administration and Facilities Management, the Controller is a senior-level position that is responsible for managing, directing and providing guidance for the Business Office functions and staff.  This position is responsible for the planning, coordination and organization of all accounting activities and systems to ensure accuracy, timeliness and integrity of all financial transactions.  Recommends and advises the Vice President of Finance, Administration and Facilities Management of needed changes to the internal controls to ensure the ongoing safeguarding of the College’s assets; serves as the lead for the College’s annual Financial Statement audit; and prepares interim financial reports and other special accounting and financial projects as needed.

Duties include review and analysis of financial information, preparing complex journal entries, preparing monthly work papers, producing and analyzing financial budget reports for College management and personnel, and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and College guidelines.  Will assist the Vice President of Finance, Administration and Facilities Management in analyzing financial information used for forecasting Carroll’s three-year budgetary plan.  Represents the Business Office in the College community; educates others in the importance of sound fiscal management and financial strategy; and provide services to faculty, staff and the College community.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration plus 6 years of experience in accounting, finance or related field.  Master’s Degree in Accounting, MBA or Certified Public Accountant preferred.
