What you’ll be doing:
As a Tax Manager for Estate Tax, Gift Tax, and Trust Income Tax, you will play a critical role in reviewing and managing complex financial documents related to estate tax returns, gift tax returns, and trust income tax returns. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of these financial filings. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with high-net-worth individuals and families, helping them navigate the complexities of tax planning and compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Review Estate Tax Returns:
- Examine estate tax documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather necessary information.
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Provide expert guidance on estate tax planning strategies.
Review Gift Tax Returns:
- Analyze gift tax filings to verify data accuracy.
- Assist clients in gift tax planning and optimization.
- Ensure timely submission of gift tax returns.
- Stay updated on gift tax laws and regulations.
Review Trust Income Tax Returns:
- Review trust income tax documents to ensure accuracy.
- Assist clients with trust income tax planning and optimization.
- Ensure compliance with trust income tax regulations.
- Advise on trust structures and strategies.
Client Communication:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Provide clear explanations of tax implications and strategies.
- Address client questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other members of the accounting and wealth management teams.
- Share insights and expertise to enhance overall service quality.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
What you’ll need for this position:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on estate tax, gift tax, and trust income tax.
- Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations related to estate, gift, and trust taxation.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and client management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in tax software and financial analysis tools
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis upon hire. (Pinion will not provide sponsorship for this position, and therefore cannot consider candidates requiring sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., H-1B status))
- Must be located in the US

In some states and municipalities, Pinion is required by law to include a reasonable estimate for range of compensation. When making compensation decisions, Pinion takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications/licenses, and geographic location. The wide range for this role reasonably accounts for these factors. Specific compensation decisions are made based on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $85,000 to $140,000.
