Experienced Tax CPA

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex individual (1040) and business tax returns (including partnerships, S-corps, C-corps, fiduciary returns, and related schedules).
  • Analyze multistate tax implications and ensure compliance across various state and local jurisdictions.
  • Conduct tax research and provide recommendations based on current laws and regulations.
  • Communicate directly with clients to gather information, explain tax positions, and provide guidance.
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and assist with tax planning strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with responses to federal and state tax notices or audits as needed.
  • Stay current with changes in tax legislation, best practices, and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting form an accredited university
  • Licensed CPA preferably by the Montana State Board of Public Accountants
  • 3+ years of tax preparation experience, including complex individual and business returns.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and multistate tax laws.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to take full responsibility for the quality of your work.
  • Preferred: Experience with Canopy, Doc.it, and Drake Tax.
