Controller/Chief Financial Officer
Lehrkinds Coca-Cola, a regional Montana beverage distributor seeks experienced full-time strategic and results-driven Controller/Chief Financial Officer specializing in multi-entity financial management, revenue growth optimization, and data-driven decision making. Lehrkinds is headquartered in Bozeman, Montana.
Candidates should have a proven track record of overseeing complex financial operations across multiple business units while delivering scalable growth, margin expansion, and operational efficiency. Experience in the beverage distribution industry is desired.
Other requirements include:
- Expert in managing all aspects of corporate finance, including monthly and quarterly tax compliance, financial reporting, cash flow management, and regulatory oversight. Adept at navigating state tax structures, excise taxes, and industry-specific compliance requirements within the beverage distribution sector.
- Strong background in revenue growth management (RGM), leveraging pricing strategy, package mix optimization, and customer and channel profitability analysis to drive top-line growth and improve gross margin performance. Experienced in partnering with sales and operations teams to align financial strategy with market execution.
- Highly skilled in business analytics and financial modeling, providing actionable insights through KPI tracking, forecasting, and performance dashboards. Known for transforming raw data into clear, executive-level insights that support strategic planning, capital allocation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Effective leader with a hands-on approach to managing finance teams while supporting multiple businesses or divisions. Skilled in building scalable financial systems, improving reporting accuracy, and driving accountability across the organization.
- Key success metrics include accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, cost control, margin improvement, timely tax compliance, cash flow predictability, timely budgeting and forecasting, development and analysis of actionable financial insights.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Oversee all general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed asset accounting functions.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial statement close processes with accuracy and timeliness. Including preparation of monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and board-level reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain full balance sheet reconciliation ownership.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Serve as primary liaison to external accountant for year-end compiled financial statement and tax preparation.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and regular monitoring of existing budgets in coordination with operational units and department heads.
- Develop rolling forecasts and financial models to support short- and long-term planning.
- Collaborate closely with business unit leaders and senior leadership team to align financial plans with operational realities and strategic objectives.
- Support the COO with financial insights to drive operational decision-making.
- Deliver clear, actionable financial insights to the CEO and ownership group.
