Ronald Yates, Jr., CPA, Honored with MTCPA’s 2025 Distinguished Service Award

The Montana Society of Certified Public Accountants (MTCPA) is proud to announce Ronald (Ron) Yates, Jr., CPA, Partner/Regional Tax Leader at Eide Bailly in Billings, as the recipient of its highest honor, the 2025 Distinguished Service Award (DSA). Yates will be recognized during the MTCPA 112th Annual Conference at an awards ceremony on Thursday, June 6, at the Northern Hotel in Billings. 

The Distinguished Service Award is presented annually to a member whose contributions to the profession, the community, and the Society exemplify leadership, service, and excellence. 

With nearly 30 years of experience in public accounting, Ron Yates has made a lasting impact on Montana’s accounting profession. At Eide Bailly, he is a respected leader and mentor, guiding teams and clients with deep tax knowledge and a commitment to service. Beyond his firm, Ron has been an active and valued member of MTCPA, contributing time and expertise to numerous committees and initiatives, including state and federal tax policy work. 

“Ron’s career reflects a remarkable dedication not only to the accounting profession but also to advancing the CPA community in Montana,” said Allen Lloyd, Executive Director of MTCPA. “He leads with integrity, generously shares his knowledge, and inspires those around him to strive for excellence.” 

Yates’ peers recognize him as a steady leader and advocate, whose professional contributions have helped shape policy, educate future CPAs, and elevate the profession throughout the state. 

The MTCPA is honored to celebrate Ron Yates’ outstanding service and leadership with this well-deserved recognition.
